Advantages of CNC Milling Aluminum 7075 Parts
The machining quality is stable, the dimensional accuracy is high, and repeatability is excellent. Aluminum 7075 is one of the high-strength aluminum alloys, with strength comparable to certain low-alloy steels, making it particularly suitable for high-load structural components such as aerospace parts and mold bases. Despite its high strength, 7075 offers good machinability. By optimizing cutting parameters, CNC milling can achieve efficient and stable precision machining, making it well-suited for demanding industrial applications.
Although untreated 7075 aluminum has moderate corrosion resistance, it can achieve excellent corrosion protection through surface treatments such as anodizing, meeting the harsh environmental requirements of aerospace and defense industries. 7075 aluminum parts are compatible with a variety of post-processing methods, including anodizing, electroplating, and sandblasting, which help enhance both the appearance and functional performance.
With a well-balanced combination of strength and machinability, 7075 material enables the efficient CNC milling of complex geometries and detailed structures.
In multi-variety, small-batch production scenarios, CNC milling provides high production efficiency. It significantly reduces time spent on production preparation, machine setup, and process inspection, while optimal cutting parameters further minimize machining time.
The need for specialized tooling is greatly reduced. Even complex-shaped parts can be processed without elaborate fixtures. When changes to part geometry or dimensions are required, only the machining program needs to be modified—ideal for new product development and design iteration.
CNC milling is also capable of producing intricate profiles that are difficult or impossible to achieve using conventional methods, including machining of internal or non-visible features.
